I like to keep principles simple when I coach. Something I’ve been having success with is breaking down space into three categories. At all times players on offense should be holding space, creating space, or attacking space. 

And as you might expect, most coaching revolves around attacking space. How to cut, where to cut etc. But the first two are much, much more important.
