Reduce the buffer in the reset space!

Our breakdown on cutting in a vert stack outlines three problems that players always seem to make and offers some tools on how to correct.

#1 – Cutters cut under too far and clog. Solutions: make more deep cuts. Cut deep after the disc goes to another cutter. Save the under cut for a swing. Pull off your cut as soon as you are looked off – don’t keep going into traffic.

#2 – Cutters ‘double cut’ or cut to the same space. It’s ok to attack a space, but pull off your cut as soon as you see another player – especially if they have speed, don’t assume they see you.

#3 – Cutters ‘autopilot’ and always try to make cut after cut. Solution: stop cutting! And just look around. A vert stack’s advantage is the disc moving back and forth across the field, something easy will develop. Use your vision to set up a cut, push downfield and attack when needed.

Part 2: The half pivot break. Go outside today and work on the half pivot low release break. It’s essential! We added one of our drills from our training program in the button below.
